Fitness claim after drop, PCB considers disciplinary action against Yasir Shah.

The 34-year-old league sniper is angry that he was not included in the Pakistan squad for the tour of Zimbabwe.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering disciplinary action against Yasir Shah for making fitness controversial after he was left out of the Test squad for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe. Sources said that consultations are underway in the PCB after the league sniper's statement came to light in which Yasir Shah claimed that he was able to participate in the two-match Test series in April.

It may be mentioned here that Yasir Shah was not included in the 20-member Test squad announced by chief selector Muhammad Waseem on Friday. After being out of the Test squad, Yasir Shah said that he has some knee problems but now he is completely healthy. He said he had recovered from a knee injury and would start training in a few days, hoping to get better in a few weeks.

The league spinner suffered a knee injury in the Karachi Test against South Africa at the end of January, but he played the Pindi Test on the advice of a doctor. He underwent an MRI scan on March 3, after which doctors and physios advised him to rest for six weeks. Yasir Shah further said that despite the problem of a knee injury, he continued to take wickets, but the chief selector had said that along with the fitness of the league spinner, there was also some difficulty in his action.

Chief selector Mohammad Waseem said: "We want Yasir to work on the accuracy of his fitness and bowling action and be fully recovered. This was the only reason why he was included in the squad for the Test series against Zimbabwe. Not done.
