UAE cricketers involved in 'match-fixing sentenced.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has closed cricket doors to two of its players for eight years for alleged corruption in cricket.

The ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal had found former UAE captains Mohammad Naveed and Sheiman Anwar guilty of violating the anti-corruption code, after which they have now been banned for eight and eight years, respectively.

According to reports, the sentence will be counted from October 16, 2019, when the ICCT tried to commit corruption in the World Cup qualifiers.

The tribunal found Naveed and Shaiman guilty of violating Articles 2.1.1 and 2.4.4, both of which were found to be involved in influencing, failing to report, and not cooperating in the investigation into the 2019 World Cup qualifiers results. ۔

Naveed was also found guilty of violating two provisions of the UAE Anti-Corruption Code. He had also tried to commit corruption in the 2019 T10 League in the UAE.
